His average of 19.69 and economy of 4.49, this year, is a testament of his supremacy. In only 13 matches, he picked up 26 wickets. He missed the Indian ODI series at home but bounced back strongly with some good performances in Tri-nation series, comprising South Africa and West Indies.

But it was in the unhelpful conditions of Sri Lanka, where he performed fabulously and claimed as many as 12 wickets in 5 matches. Then he was rested for the South African series. In the last ODI series of the year against Kiwis, he scalped 6 wickets in 3 matches and signed off the year on a good note.
