3. Adil Rashid (England) – 29 wickets
Not very often we get to see an English spinner making it to top three bowlers in ODIs. But this year was different as England’s Adil Rashid finished with 29 wickets in 17 ODIs with an economy of 5.19 and stamped his authority. Rashid sent down the highest number of overs in ODI cricket – 158.2, this year. The most remarkable thing about this leg-spinner has been his ability to contain runs and take wickets in this format. England produced some belters in ODIs yet Rashid managed to take 14 wickets in 9 home games, in particular he enjoyed a great series against Pakistan.
Later, when Poms travelled to Bangladesh, the Bradford-born cricketer turned England’s major weapon and derailed the hosts with 10 wickets in 3 games.
