Top 10 Best Test Innings by Kumar Sangakkara An effort that went in vain! Sanga did whatever he could still he couldn’t get his team across the line, fought like a lone warrior and at a point it seemed that he will win it for them but it just wasn’t to be. All this happened in Hobart in 2007 where Australia batted first and amassed more than 500 runs in their first innings and Sri Lanka were bowled out for a score of near 250, Australia in their second innings set Sri Lanka a humongous target of 507 runs. This was deemed to be unachievable and well it turned out to be like that. Sangakkara gave it a try but even he failed and but only missed by a small margin. Everything put aside, Sangakkara played a brilliant knock of 192 runs in the fourth innings chasing 507, in the process he hit 27 fours and one huge six. He almost led them to an unimaginable victory but in the end fell short by only 96 runs only If he had gotten a little more support from his team mates the story could have been a lot different. I personally rate this as his best innings. “Forever remebered! who? The one and only Sangakkara! Sangakkara who? Sri Lanka’s best batsman!!”
