4. 230 against Pakistan in 2002 :
It is the Asian test championship final, Pakistan and Sri Lanka face each other, both the teams want glory in the purest form of them but only a special performance can give a victory in such a high octane clash. Pakistan being put to bat first were bowled out for a below par score of 234 and now it was Sri Lanka’s turn to bat and face the menacing quick attack of Pakistan. Waqar and Shoaib were the most lethal of the bowlers and Waqar got rid of Marvan Attapatu on the very second delivery. Sangakkara came out to face the Pakistani attack and to him it looked as if he was playing with kids as he scored a mammoth double century putting Sri Lanka in a very secure spot. Sangakkara score 232 runs which included 33 fours and 3 humongous sixes. Adding this that this was a final but Sangakkara really thrived on playing with that added pressure. Sri Lanka went on to win the match by eight wickets and all credit due to Sanga, deservedly he got the Man of the match award too.
