Batting second, India took a lead of 87 runs by putting up 627 on the score board. Sehwag’s ferocious innings had an upper hand over South Africa’s brilliant bowling attack. He studded his innings with 42 fours and 5 sixes in a profound manner. Although the match ended up in a draw, Sehwag created history by hitting a triple century off 269 balls, the fastest ever by any batsman. He also became the 1st Indian to score two triple hundreds, only 2nd after Don Bradman.
