# Ian Bell’s superb 85 off 96 balls is highest score in India,

# Bell has registered his fourth fifty against India – his 24th in ODIs.

# England (325 for four) have recorded their joint third highest total against India in ODIs – their highest is 338 for eight at Bangalore on February 27, 2011.

# Since winning by 5 wickets at Jamshedpur on April 12, 2006, England have won an ODI against India at home for the first time. England have won seven ODIs by less than ten runs against India.

# Mahendra Singh Dhoni (1012 at an average of 50.60 in 30 games) has become the fifth Indian player to complete 1,000 runs against England in ODIs.He has joined  Sachin Tendulkar (1455), Yuvraj Singh (1248),Rahul Dravid (1012) and Virender Sehwag (1008).

# Alastair Cook (75 off 83 balls) has recorded his fifth fifty against India – his 14th in ODIs.  The said knock is his highest against India in India in ODIs.

# Cook and Bell were  associated in a stand of 158 – England’s highest first-wicket partnership against India, eclipsing the 133 between Chris Tavare and Barry Wood at Leeds on June 2, 1982.

# Ashok Dinda (2/53) has recorded his best bowling performance in ODIs at home.

# Ishant Sharma (10-0-86-0) has recorded his worst bowling figures in ODIs, eclipsing the 10-0-69-0 against Pakistan at Karachi on June 26, 2008.

# Ishant Sharma’s above performance is the worst by an Indian bowler against England in ODIs.  Only James Anderson has conceded more runs in India-England games than Sharma – 9.5-0-91-1 at Bangalore on February 27, 2011.

# Eight sixes were registered in England’s innings – their joint second highest against India – the highest is 9 during their  total of 229 at Rajkot on November 14, 2008.

# Since recording 176 by Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir against the West Indies at Indore on December 8, 2011, the stand of 96 between Gambhir and Rahane is India’s highest for the first wicket in 21 ODIs. The said stand is India’s first fifty-plus partnership in 12 ODIs
