5. England vs Australia, 2013, Southampton
England were enchanted throughout the Ashes in 2013, with T20 series ahead. In the opening match, Australia were put to bat after losing the toss. David Warner’s wicket fell cheaply only in the 2nd over, followed by a century partnership between Aron Finch and Shaun Marsh. Finch prospered his innings with a brutal century, fastest in T20 international after Chris Gayle and went past Shane Watson’s record of 124 runs. England were given a mammoth target of 249, which looked impossible at one stage. Perhaps Joe Root and Ravi Bopara tried to settle the innings, they fell short of 39 runs to win the match. Aron Finch’s splendid 156 runs pulled the match for Australia and stood out amongst all.
