It was at this magical venue where Indian Cricket started a new chapter in their diary. Those 2 days when Laxman and Dravid played innings of their lifetime and to script one of the all time greatest  comebacks of Indian Cricket. That test match made the whole cricket fraternity to notice the remarkable fighting capabilities of the Indian Cricket to defeat the Australians. The epic innings of 281 by VVS Laxman was being hailed as one of the  all time greatest knocks. They began to win overseas matches in alien conditions and won home series on consistent basis proving their class and flamboyance. Everything started falling in place for Indian Cricket . They enjoyed a brief stint as No.1 test team and won world cup at 2011. The downfall started from India’s tour of England in 2011 . Citing injuries and various other excuses it lost the series. There was some relief in the form of ODI wins against England in India and test series win against Westindies. Next followed a disastrous tour of Australia. No excuses this time. Batsman found loopholes in their batting and lack of application. Bowlers not sticking to line and length felt and fielders exhausted running around the ground. Series whitewash was the eventual result. They found some solace in series win against inexperienced New Zealand.
