On back of Brathwaite’s brilliance, West Indies was able to register its lone Test win in 2016. The right-hander carried his bat in first innings of Sharjah Test as he made an unbeaten 142 and helped West Indies post a decent total.

In second innings, West Indies was chasing a tricky total of 154 runs and at a point of time, they were struggling at 67 for 5. But Brathwaite rescued them and played a resilient knock of 60* runs to help them cross the line.
