3. Haseeb Hameed

Haseeb Hameed

When the English squad was announced for South Africa Tests, one of their most impressive members from last Test series, Haseeb Hameed missed out after a dismal run in County Cricket. But what we have seen of this 20-year-old English batsman is enough to make us believe that he will come back a stronger player. And mind you, last time, he wasn’t as bad in Tests with some decent innings under his belt. If his 82 on debut at Rajkot showed he belonged to the big stage, the 144-ball 25 in fourth innings of Visakhapatnam showcased his top-class temperament. At Mohali Haseeb displayed courage on his way to a 156-ball 59* with a badly damaged finger that he knew required surgery. Hameed can be the next big thing for England in red-ball cricket.
