Most runs IN ODIs batting at number 3
Ricky Ponting (Australia) – No.1

Ricky Thomas Ponting tops the list of batsmen scoring most run in ODIs at number three position.  It was as if you could not think of a better batsman at this position other than Ponting. He was intimidating, aggressive and he had two words written all over – class and precision. Ponting was once rated by Rod Marsh as the best teenage batsman, and when he made his debut for the Australian team he had his own attitude adjustments to make. But with age and responsibilities came maturity, and he began to breach records with every series he played. Some rate him the best batsman after Bradman, the records also speak for it. Ponting’s most memorable innings came against India in the 2003 World Cup final when he made a mockery of the Indian bowling. Like Tendulkar, Ponting had problems with short pitch stuff but overcame those with the judicious use of the pull shot and the hook shot. He is also one among Australia’s best test captains enjoying continued success in 2003 and 2007 World Cups but his batting was what really counted.
