6. Irfan Pathan’s first over Hat-trick
In 2006 Karachi Test against Pakistan, the Indian pacer Irfan Pathan became the first bowler in the history to claim a Hat-trick in the first over of a Test match. Pathan dismissed Salman Butt, Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf on the fourth, fifth and sixth ball of the first over respectively. The left-arm pacer is second Indian after Harbhajan Singh to take a Hat-trick in Tests. Despite Irfan’s sterling performance, India could not register a win in the Test. Though the Sri Lankan pacer, Nuwan Zoysa had also taken hat-trick in his first over but notably it was the second over of the innings.
