Brendon Kuruppu (Sri Lanka) – #7

The Right hander Opening Wicket-keeper batsman who hails from Colombo made a striking impression in the cricket arena when he burst into the scene with a Double Century against New Zealand. He played this remarkable innings on his home ground against the likes of Richard Hadlee and all. In this colossal innings, he occupied the crease for a whopping 777 minutes and faced as many as 548 deliveries to score 201 runs with 24 boundaries to his name. A man who held a reputation of pinch hitter in limited over format, this was indeed a very uncharacteristic knock. Kuruppu played only 4 tests for his country and this was his 1st first  century as well as his last test century. He is ranked 7th on our list.
