Whenever the name of this dashing left-hander would be churned, people would revive the memories of his revolutionary acts with Romesh Kaluwitharana which evolved cricket teams into utilizing the Power play overs of ODI cricket. Jayasuriya was a trend setter with the bat along with the possession of a golden arm as and when his team required his services. This innings came 19 years ago against the potent bowling line-up of Pakistan at Singapore. He hammered a demolishing knock of 134 runs off mere 65 balls and set the world ablaze with the record of fastest ton then, in 45 balls only. He slapped a tally of 11 fours and 11 sixes against the likes of Waqar Younis, Saqlain Mushtaq, Aaqib Javed and Mohammad Akram. He is ranked 8th in our list.
