8. MS Dhoni’s moment of sportsmanship:
During the series decider match against India at Mumbai, Faf du Plessis had pulled up his hamstring. The conditions were extremely tough to battle and it became awfully painful for du Plessis to bear the extreme heat at the Wankhade. The cramp propelled him to adapt the theory of hit-out or get-out. The elegant batter was on a roll as he started hammering Indian’s for one six after another. But amidst all this, he continued to struggle with the cramps and was down on the ground after hitting a boundary. Faf looked in unbearable pain but then MSD came to his rescue and helped his CSK team-mate stretch his cramped legs and ankle. The Indian skipper could have easily sit back and see all these happenings as du Plessis was thrashing the Indian bowlers in this all important match but the ever so dynamic MSD, did things the other way around and put up a act of true sportsmanship. Ultimately, these kind acts on the 22 yards testify why cricket is called a gentlemen’s game.
