4. AB de Villier’s Superman show at the Wanderers:
The year took a breath-taking start with South African skipper, AB de Villiers smashing the fastest ever hundred in the history of ODI cricket. Though ABD had already established himself as one of the best batsmen in the world but the iconic 44-ball 149 run knock added the tag of invincibility to his stature. The so-called Superman of cricket had reached the three figure mark in merely 31 deliveries. The West Indies bowlers were butchered by de Villiers who blasted them all around the park. Even the big man, Chris Gayle bowed down to the South African genius in appreciation of this epic knock. With this innings, Mr.360 degree also equaled the record for most number of sixes in an ODI innings while it was the fastest fifty in ODIs as well.
