He is the only second Englishmen to feature in this list. Jack Hobbs is the most prolific run getter in history of cricket with 61,237 first class runs and 199 centuries. Although many say that due to the outbreak of frequent wars, he couldn’t transform his domestic exploits at the international level. But, yet in his international career which spanned for 22 years, in which he featured in only 61 test matches ended up with a tally of 5,410 runs at a supreme average of 56.94 with 15 centuries against his name.
He participated in 41 Ashes tests and plundered a gigantic tally of 3,636 runs at a blistering average of 54.26 with 12 centuries and 15 half-centuries. He is the second highest run getter in Ashes cricket while he tops the chart for maximum number of Ashes runs for his country.
