7. Rahane’s master class at Kotla:
Ajinkya Rahane has emerged as the batting pillar of the Indian Test team in the recent years with his enterprising knocks in overseas conditions. But Jinx’s unsuccessful run at home had left the cricket experts and fans scratching their heads in surprise. But in the fourth and final Test at Kotla against South Africa, the stylish batter stroked hundreds in both the innings of the Test. Fascinatingly, again the Mumbaikar testified why he is rated so highly by the experts as he was the first player from either of the sides to score a ton in the series. Both the centuries were epitome of class and elegance. It is notable that the Proteas accumulated a total of 264 runs in the match while Rahane single-handedly scored 227 runs in the Test.
