5. Ashwin the red ball ‘Invincible’:
One of the magnificent moments of Indian cricket came during the fag-end of the year when Ravichandran Ashwin finished 2015 as ICC’s top-ranked Test bowler. Interestingly, Ashwin is also the ICC’s no. 1 ranked all-rounder in Test cricket. The Indian offie had a great outing this year and his significance could be well understood from the fact that he was the Man-of-the-Series in India’s Test series triumphs over Sri Lanka and South Africa respectively. The off-spinner transpired to be a match-winner. Even one of the best batsmen in the world, AB de Villiers had a tough time against him. The Indian star ended the year with 62 Test wickets up his sleeve and picked up 21 and 31 wickets against the Lankans and Proteas respectively. Notably, at the start of 2015, the Chennai lad was the 15th ranked ICC Test bowler of the world.
