6. MS Dhoni’s career saving knock:
Coming into the 2nd match of the ODI series against South Africa, MS Dhoni was under gigantic pressure. The Indore ODI confronted him with almost a do-or-die situation. Dhoni was struggling with his personal form while India’s recent losses in ODI cricket also made the situation very intricate. Even in the 1st ODI, India was cruising to a win but Dhoni was unable to finish the match in the last over of the game like he so often does in his trademark style. In the Indore match, India was struggling on 124-6 but Captain Cool’s gritty knock of 92* runs took India to a match-winning total of 247 runs. Dhoni seemed at his impeccable best as he played with caution when needed and went ballistic after the bowlers whenever they bowled to his strengths. The knock silenced all the murmurs regarding his retirement from limited overs cricket.
