This victory against the burly Indian side is ranked as the greatest win of Bangladesh in ODI history. After their World Cup exploits and series win against Pakistan, they were considered to be a strong side but still a series win against a top side like India seemed remote.
But, after defeating India in the first ODI, they were confronted with an opportunity to script history. And the Bangla tigers didn’t dismay their fans as well.
The brilliancy of Bangladeshi bowlers restricted the star studded Indian batting line-up to a mere total of 200 runs. And now the millions of Bangladeshi fans could sense the smell of an elusive victory. When the Bangladeshi batsmen came out to bat, they chased down the target with 6 wickets in hand and 12 overs remaining.
They stitched their name in golden letters on the cricket map with their first series victory against India. They also qualified for the Champions Trophy which means that either Pakistan or West Indies will miss out on the event.
