After the heroics of the Bangladeshi team in the preceding year, now the fans were well aware that their side is good enough to puncture any team on their own backyard. Coming into the 3rd and final match of the series, they had a rare opportunity of white washing a formidable ODI side like the Kiwis.
The Kiwi batsmen, Ross Taylor played a scintillating knock of 107 runs to take his side to a big total of 307 runs. Although, the task was uphill but yet the home side had the experience of winning the pressure matches as they had in the last year.
The Bangladeshi opener Shamsur Rahman played the innings of his life when he plundered an excellent knock of 96 runs. Naeem Islam also played an imperative knock of 63 runs while Nasir Hossain once again proved his mettle as a finisher with his vital contribution of 44 runs. They won the match with 5 wickets in hand and 4 balls to spare. In this way, they scripted the implausible landmark of winning all the matches of the series and handled a Banglawash to the visiting Kiwis side.
