6. Bangladesh vs South Africa, World Cup, 7th April 2007
After defeating India in the league phase of the World Cup, the Bangla tigers were growing in confidence as they entered the super eights. This match was played at Providence on 7th April 2007.
The Bangladeshi team was struggling at 69-3 after South Africa put them to bat after winning the toss. But, then the wonder boy of Bangladeshi cricket; Mohammad Ashraful forged an imperious knock of 87 runs. The short cameos of Aftab Ahmed and Mahrafe Mortaza helped them to put up a competitive total of 251 runs on the board.
Then the trio of Bangladeshi spinners Abdur Razzak, Shakib-al-Hasan and Mohammed Rafique accounted for a misery of 96 runs in 29.4 overs and shared 5 wickets among them. Bangladesh went on to register a comprehensive victory over the Proteas as they won the match by 67 runs.
